The Foothills Medical Society (formerly the Clear Creek Valley Medical Society) was founded in 1934 and was chartered by the Colorado Medical Society as the West Denver area local medical society for physicians. The 450 members of FMS represent all medical specialties and include a range of solo, group, and employed physicians.
The Scholarship Fund of the Foothills Medical Society was founded in 1974 to provide financial assistance to west side students pursuing a career in the medical field. Since its beginning, the fund has awarded over 150 scholarships with close to $50,000 in financial assistance.
The 9Health Fair has its origins at FMS. West Side physicians saw a need for preventive care and started what became the state's largest low cost health screening organization.
The history of the Foothills Medical Society is one that exemplifies community service and a dedicated commitment to public health.
